Plain-English Client Agreement

This document is sent to every client before any project begins. It covers what is included, what is not, and what both parties are responsible for. No legal jargon. No surprises.

1

Scope of Work

The standard mybitness website package includes:

  • A custom-built website of up to six pages
  • Copywriting for all pages — we write, you review and approve
  • Local SEO setup: schema markup, meta titles and descriptions, sitemap, Google Search Console submission
  • Google Business Profile: created, verified, and fully optimised
  • Contact form, connected and tested
  • SSL certificate and HTTPS configuration
  • Mobile and tablet testing on real devices
  • One round of post-launch revisions (text and image changes, up to two hours of work)
  • Full handover of all credentials and files on launch day

The precise scope is confirmed in the discovery brief, completed before the project begins. Anything not listed above is outside the standard scope and will be quoted separately before any work is done.

2

Intellectual Property & Ownership

On receipt of the final payment, full ownership of all code, design files, written content produced by mybitness, and all digital assets transfers to the client. mybitness retains no claim over any element of the delivered website.

This means: you can take the site to any developer, move it to any host, and modify it however you wish. Nothing is locked to mybitness's systems or requires our continued involvement to function. The domain is registered in your name. The hosting account is in your name. The Google Business Profile is in your name. All passwords and credentials are handed over on launch day.

One caveat, stated plainly: if you take the optional Growth & Care Plan, mybitness administers your DNS records while it runs, so that hosting, SSL and uptime stay managed. That is delegated access to a domain that remains registered in your name — it is not ownership, and it does not restrict you. Full DNS control returns to you on cancellation. See section 7.

3

Payment Terms

100% upfront payment — £799.99

The full amount is taken before the build begins. This is stated on the pricing page and next to the payment button, not buried in the terms. It starts the 14 working day build clock, together with your completed onboarding form.

No VAT is charged or added

mybitness is not currently VAT registered, so £799.99 is the total amount payable — there is nothing to add. A Stripe receipt is issued automatically on payment. Should mybitness become VAT registered, prices will be restated and existing clients told in advance.

Secure payments via Stripe

All build payments and care plan subscriptions are processed by Stripe. mybitness never sees or stores your card details.

Pricing transparency

One payment covers the complete design, copywriting and local SEO build. The Growth & Care Plan is a separate, optional subscription — you are not required to take it, and the build is complete without it.

4

Revision Policy & Scope Changes

Included revisions: One structured round of revisions is included after the completed site is delivered. This covers text changes, image replacements, colour adjustments, and minor layout changes — up to two hours of work.

Structural changes: If you want to change the site's structure significantly — adding new sections, restructuring the service pages, or changing the overall design direction — this is quoted separately before any work is done. We will tell you the cost and you approve it before we proceed.

Additional pages: The standard build includes up to six pages. Additional pages are available at £75 per page, agreed before the project begins.

Mid-project changes: If you want to change something before the site is delivered — adding a service you forgot to mention, updating your logo, changing a page structure — let us know as soon as possible. Minor additions are absorbed where possible. Significant changes that affect the build timeline are agreed and priced before we proceed.

5

Timeline & Delays

Target delivery: 14 working days from receipt of the fully completed Tally onboarding form and upfront payment. Both must be received before the build clock starts.

What the 14 working days requires from you: The fully completed Tally onboarding form (typically 20 minutes to complete), and any photos, logos, or credentials you want to include. If we need something from you mid-build, we will ask once. We will not chase repeatedly.

If we are delayed: We will tell you proactively — not wait for you to chase. If the delay is on our side, the timeline is extended without additional charge. If the delay is caused by missing information or approvals from your side, the timeline adjusts from when we receive what we need.

6

Communication

Primary channel: Email. All project communication takes place by email so there is a written record. For urgent matters (site down, form not working after launch), call Paul directly on 07747 777803.

Response time: We aim to respond to all emails within one working day. For post-launch support issues, we target same-day response and resolution within 48 hours for non-urgent matters.

Project updates: You will receive an update at day 3 (brief reviewed, build commenced), day 10 (preview link shared for early feedback), and day 14 (completed site delivered for review). You do not need to chase for these — they arrive unprompted.

7

Growth & Care Plan Terms

The Growth & Care Plan at £79/month is entirely optional — your website is complete, owned by you and fully functional without it. It covers hosting, security monitoring, monthly content updates and Google Business Profile management.

12-month minimum term. If you take the plan, it runs for a minimum of 12 months — £948 across the first year — after which you can cancel with 30 days' written notice. We ask for the minimum term because server provisioning and the initial growth work are front-loaded into the first few months. This term is stated on the pricing page, in the site FAQ and here, so you can weigh it before agreeing.

DNS & domain policy: your domain is registered in your name and stays that way. While the care plan is active, mybitness administers the DNS records on your behalf so hosting, SSL and uptime remain managed — this is delegated access, not ownership. Full DNS control transfers back to you on cancellation, within five working days, at no charge.

If you do not take the plan: you host the site wherever you like. A static site of this kind typically costs between nothing and about £10/month to host, and we will set you up on your own account at no charge as part of the handover if you prefer that route.

On cancellation: All hosting files are transferred to your preferred provider within five working days at no charge. You keep the site. You keep everything. Nothing is withheld.

What is not included in the care plan: New pages (£75 per page), structural design changes, e-commerce or booking system integration, Google Ads management, and copywriting beyond the included monthly content update.

8

What Is Not Included

To be clear about what falls outside the standard £799.99 scope:

E-commerce or online shop functionality
Custom booking or appointment systems
Members-only or gated content areas
API integrations with third-party software
Brand strategy or logo design
Photography or video production
Paid advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads)
More than six pages (£75 per additional page)

If your project needs any of the above, we will tell you on your kick-off call. If that means mybitness is not the right fit, you get a full refund — see section 9.

9

Refunds & Cancellation

We ask for payment upfront, so it is only fair that you know exactly where you stand if things change. In plain terms: if we have not started, you get all of it back.

Before the build starts — full refund. Any time before we begin work (that is, before both your payment and your completed onboarding form are received, or within 48 hours of them being received, whichever is later), email or call and we refund the full £799.99. No forms, no explanation required, no deductions.

If we are not the right fit — full refund. If your kick-off call reveals that what you need falls outside the standard package — e-commerce, a booking system, anything in section 8 — and you would rather not proceed, you get the full amount back. We would rather refund you than build the wrong thing.

After the build has started — pro-rata refund. If you cancel mid-build, we refund the portion covering work not yet done, and you keep everything produced up to that point: the design files, the copy written for you, and any assets. We will explain the calculation in writing before processing it.

After launch. Once the site is live and all credentials have been transferred to you, the build is complete and the fee is non-refundable — you have the finished asset. The included revision round remains available.

If we cancel. If mybitness cannot deliver for any reason — illness, capacity, or a project turning out to be beyond scope — you receive a full refund regardless of stage, plus every file produced so far, at no cost.

Care plan cancellation. Covered in section 7: 12-month minimum term, then 30 days' written notice. Monthly payments already made are not refunded, but you keep your website and everything transfers to you on exit.

Your statutory rights. Nothing in this agreement limits any rights you have under UK consumer law. If you are buying as an individual rather than as a business, you may also have a statutory 14-day cancellation right — ask and we will confirm how it applies to you.

Questions about the agreement before you decide? Ask directly.
