Who we are

mybitness is a web design and local SEO business based in Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire, UK, operated by Paul Oxley as sole trader. Our website is https://mybitness.com. We are the data controller for the information described below. You can contact us at paul@mybitness.com or 07747 777803.

What information we collect

When you submit a form on this website, we collect:

• Your name
• Your business name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (optional)
• Your website address (optional)
• Any message you write in the form

If you become a client, we also collect the information you give us in the onboarding form — your services, service areas, brand assets and any photos or credentials you choose to share.

We never see or store your card details. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe.

Why we're allowed to use it (lawful basis)

• Legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you have sent us. You asked us a question; we answer it.
• Contract — delivering a website you have paid for, and supporting it afterwards.
• Consent — analytics cookies, and any optional marketing email. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Cookies below).
• Legal obligation — keeping financial records for the period HMRC requires.

Who else processes your data

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data for marketing. We do use the following service providers ("processors") to run the business. Some are based in the United States and transfer data under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

• Netlify (US) — hosts this website and receives form submissions.
• Google (Analytics 4) (US) — website usage statistics. Only runs if you accept cookies.
• Google (Workspace / Apps Script / Sheets) (US) — email correspondence and our internal enquiry log.
• Tally (EU) — the client onboarding form used after purchase.
• Stripe (US/IE) — payment processing. Stripe is a controller in its own right for payment data.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry data is kept for up to 2 years, after which it is deleted. Client project data and financial records are kept for up to 7 years in line with UK record-keeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see Your rights.

Cookies

This site sets no analytics or marketing cookies unless you accept them. Google Analytics loads with consent denied by default (Google Consent Mode v2) and only sets cookies after you press Accept on the banner. If you press "No thanks", no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same.

To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will reappear. We also store one small item in your browser's local storage to remember your choice — it contains nothing that identifies you.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Request that we restrict how we process your data
• Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests
• Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first — we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
